Now running 1.19.3!
From Doctacosa

The network has been updated to 1.19.3, which contains bug fixes and improvements as usual. Java players, it's recommended that you use the latest version for the best results, but we have also kept the compatibility with previous versions up to 1.19.2. Bedrock players, you always want to be on the latest one!

One specific game setting has been changed for Superia: in that world only, lava will now behave like water with the lavaSourceConversion game rule. If you're hoping to create or change lava lakes and keep a nice, flat top to them, this is for you! There are no plans to do this on any other worlds.

Our resource packs have been updated to show as being compatible in-game. No other changes are included within.

Passive Mobs, Gotta Catch 'Em All!
From Twixxi

Have you been travelling across the land of Cimmeria, searching far and wide for all the new things? Did you find some new pets along the way? Well now you can take them home with you!

The new Pokémon Center has opened up in the south-west corner of Cimmeria spawn, just outside the castle wall under Sonic and Tails. Bring any passive mob inside to the centre of the Center and push the button, and they'll be converted into a Spawn Egg! You can then take this to one of the main worlds and release it there.

This only works with passive mobs (including villagers), but the good news is that they will remember all of their details including things like their name, their colour variations, and their health. Feel free to bring the mob to the Center using boats or leads, that will work absolutely fine.

Monthly challenges update: October 2022
From Doctacosa

Welcome to October at least, a favorite for many at the Creeper's Lab! It's time for our regular rotation of challenges, plus the previously announced reset of Cimmeria! But what's this...?

Kenorland CIMMERIA: End of the world!

The End is Nigh. Cimmeria is dying. Smelling the incoming Apocalypse, the Horsemen have ridden out and turned the world to chaos.

The skies have turned purple, the rivers run red, the land is on fire, and the sun seems to have stopped rising. Even more concerning, the entire world seems to be imploding in on itself.

Hostile mobs, even those from the Nether, are now spawning all over the place and no longer seem to be scared of light. Even some of the usually timid animals seem to be running rabid.

Cimmeria is not a safe place right now, but the rewards are great. Dare you brave a dying world?

Watch the trailer below, and then read on for more information!

New frontpage layout!
From Doctacosa

I'm introducing today a new layout for the frontpage, with better visuals and more information right at your fingertips!

Each news item now has a larger title to grab your attention while all or part of the text follows. For longer articles, like the monthly rotation of challenges, the details will be offered below a cut. The end result is something that makes it easier at a glance to see all the recent updates. Additionally, from now on, news items written by someone else will have their name displayed instead of mine (or the posting staff).

On the right (or below on phone screens), you get a direct preview of all ongoing happenings. For some, like monthly Kenorland challenges, the data will update automatically. No more worries about someone passing you in a race!

We're now on 1.19.2!
From Doctacosa

After a delay caused by technical issues, the Creeper's Lab has been updated to properly run Minecraft 1.19.2. This means that the latest gameplay features introduced on .1 and .2 are now available to everyone. I suggest that you update to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements.

With the multiple layers we have on the network, including many servers and the support for both Java and Bedrock, the chat validation and reporting system isn't working properly. Until this happens, I've forced the removal of the chat warning popup. Players who often change worlds will quickly notice that something is gone, and good riddance too!

Cimmeria resetting on October 1st
From Doctacosa

We've previously discussed the upcoming reset of Cimmeria. The date for this has been set: October 1st. If you have any supplies or builds in Cimmeria that you want to save, consider this your last warning!

The area that will be saved is now marked as an orange rectangle on the map. In-game, you can see it marked with four corners set in orange and white. This covers the newly expanded spawn town of Aditus and public resources like the tutorial and the tree farm. Everything outside this area will be removed and reset with a new seed, giving new players easily found building grounds while allowing others to gather resources without being too worried about the landscape.

From here on, the world will be reset on a semi-regular basis as needed. This should last at least three months between wipes.

Monthly challenges update: August 2022
From Doctacosa

The month of August begins with a brand new Seasonal challenge from Twixxi, which will take over as a guest spot in the Kenorland rotation. Plus, regular updates to guilds and horsemen quests!

Seasonal: A quest for Funky Dance Moves!

Take it away, Twixxi!

The (lesser known) Explorer's Guild invites you to take part in a special treasure hunt this month!

A new, naturally generated 1.19 world is now available on the Seasonal server. The fifteen different Music Discs have been removed from where you'd usually find them and scattered across the Overworld, Nether and End. You'll need to decipher the clues provided and then go look for them. They might be found in certain structures, be held by certain mobs, or even require you to complete a certain action!

What you need to know!

  • Head to Central's TransHub, right next to the train station and TARDIS in Central, to access the Seasonal server.
  • When you first log into the Seasonal server you will be given a Guidebook containing all of the clues. You can always get another copy either from spawn or by using the command /trigger guide. You can also view the clues in the Advancements menu.
  • You will earn one point for each different disc that you pick up, with a maximum of 15 points for finding all the discs. If you find the same disc more than once, you'll only get a point the first time.
  • Whenever you pick up a music disc it will immediately vanish. This means you won't be able to collect a disc for another player.
  • Players may cooperate on the survival aspects of the challenge (sharing resources, fighting together, etc), however if you choose to explore structures together, remember that you may not find enough discs for both of you!
  • Subtle clues are okay, but giving people outright solutions to the locations of music discs is strongly discouraged.
  • A Dynmap of the Seasonal server is available here. You might find this useful when trying to find certain biomes. Remember however that loot chests do not regenerate their contents, so if you go to a structure that's already been looted you might not find any discs.
  • You have until the end of Events Night on Sunday 21st August to find as many discs as possible! After that you will not be able to earn any more points. Inventories will then be synched until the end of August to allow you to transfer any materials you have gathered over to the main survival worlds.

Prizes!

Prizes will be awarded based on how many Music Discs you find. A preview of all prizes can be viewed at the Spawn building on the Seasonal server. There is no first place, second place, etc in this event - everyone has the chance to earn the top prize!

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

  • 15 Discs Found: 100x Explorer's Guild Token, Master Explorer Insignia, 3x Explorer's Potion IV (Speed IV, Night Vision IV, Conduit Power IV, 40 mins), 20 Merit Points
  • 10-14 Discs Found: 40x Explorer's Guild Token, Expert Explorer Insignia, 3x Explorer's Potion III (Speed III, Night Vision III, Conduit Power III, 30 mins), 10 Merit Points
  • 5-9 Discs Found: 15x Explorer's Guild Token, Journeyman Explorer Insignia, 3x Explorer's Potion II (Speed II, Night Vision II, Conduit Power II, 20 mins), 5 Merit Points
  • 1-4 Discs Found: 5x Explorer's Guild Token, Apprentice Explorer Insignia, 3x Explorer's Potion I (Speed I, Night Vision I, Conduit Power I, 10 mins), 1 Merit Point

Explorer's Guild Tokens can be used at the Prize Vendor at the Guild Headquarters at Creeper Citadel to buy:

  • 5 Tokens -> Zombie Horse Spawn Egg (tamed and saddled)
  • 5 Tokens -> Soundtrack of the Explorer [Infinity, Funky Dance Moves V, Unbreaking III, When in Off Hand: +0.1 Speed] (Music Disc 5)
  • 10 Tokens -> Explorer's Trident [Riptide X, 9 Attack Damage, 1.1 Attack Speed, Unbreakable] (Trident)
  • 20 Tokens -> Explorer's Horse Armor [Depth Strider III, Feather Falling III, When on Horse: +0.1 Speed] (Leather Horse Armor)
  • 50 Tokens -> Explorer's Leggings [Protection IV, Swift Sneak V, +3 Armor, Unbreakable]

Science updates

New Horsemen Quests are available for all five of the Four Horsemen. Plus, don't forget to submit an application to gather tokens toward your Acolyte status!

The Hunter's Lodge is currently closed for upgrades, thank you for your patience!

Guilds

As with every new month, the guilds have new targets. You have until the end of this month to complete them and claim your tokens in each world! You can also continue progressing on Gondwana's Specialist tasks.

If you need details on any of these, the wiki page about the Monthly Challenges is updated as soon as each of these is ready at the beginning of the month!

Support for Minecraft 1.19.1 added
From Doctacosa

Support for Minecraft 1.19.1 has been added to the network as it's been officially released. You are free to update to 1.19.1 or remain on 1.19 for now. Should you join using the newest version on Java Edition, you will see this notification on the corner of your screen:

Image

This is normal and caused by us still running 1.19 internally; there's nothing to be worried about. The plan is to test how our custom chat system interacts with the new verified messages introduced by Mojang in the next few days. Once everything is looking good, we will properly update and the notification should go away.

Reminders on ongoing events!
From Doctacosa

There's an ongoing building contest for sandcastles! Some people have been planning their entries for a while, but time is running out - the last day for building is on August 1st, about a week from now, so it's time to get going! For the details, please see the original news post - several pre-made lots are waiting for you.

Also open until the end of July is the free access to the Sarnath Necropolis, our new regenerating Ancient City. Sculk sensors and shriekers can be carefully harvested from this location, puzzles solved, while a certain monster lurks in the deep darkness. After this trial period, the Necropolis will be available only during Events Nights, or with a Merit Points / Voucher access similar to the other structures.

Upcoming reset of Cimmeria; status change
From Doctacosa

We're planning some significant changes to Cimmeria, some that could be unexpected, so please read on for the full details.

Cimmeria is our starter world, open to everyone with a focus on the non-registered visitors. Many make some simple builds then move on, either to the other worlds or to other communities. As a result, the surroundings of Aditus, the spawn town, get busy with basic builds and used resources. This makes it more difficult to find potential building grounds.

To help with this, we have decided that Cimmeria will now be reset on a regular schedule. This has two main benefits: new players will be able to find resources and free land more quickly, while our regulars will gain a world ready to be exploited for supplies. While no frequency has been chosen for sure, a quarterly rate (every three months) is the most likley option right now.

The area around the spawn town of Aditus will be kept on each wipe. To make the place more inviting, a train station with rails heading in the four cardinal directions will be added, along with some other utilities, bringing it closer to the standards of our other survival worlds.

The first reset will happen in two months, not before September the 16th. If you have any supplies that you want to save, consider getting them soon. If there are buildings that you would like to see moved elsewhere, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Note that there are no plans to reset any of the main survival worlds. Our focus is still on long-term stability, and we don't want to see your building work go to waste.

Thanks for reading!

New challenge area: the Sarnath Necropolis!
From Doctacosa

Plenty of news tonight, brought to you by Sora with help from others!

--

And more news to share we indeed have! Fresh off the presses, we have a new regenerating structure for all you aspiring archeologists out there; the Sarnath Necropolis!

Image

This regenerating structure allows you to get the full Ancient City experience, including a city-wide game of Don't Wake Daddy Warden, using wool to try and desperately keep those shriekers quiet, and even allows you to mine the Sculk Sensors and Sculk Shriekers for your own! Redstone puzzles, new loot, and a new Boss somewhere in the depths are all waiting for you!

The city has three modes: City Access, which allows you to tour the city without threat of assault, but without any rewards. Regen Access, which allows you to use a Merit Voucher at any time of the week for 5 accesses. Events Night Access, which allows free access during the Events Night periods.

Like the other structures, this city would normally only be accessible via Events Night for free; but, as a launch bonus for 1.19, access will be free until August 1st!

A new set of Science Tools was also released in conjunction with 1.19, the Void Claw - Harvest sets from Sarnath Necropolis itself and Wyvern Claw - Organic sets from the Farming Guilds. Silktouch hoes perfect for all your Sculk-mining needs! Both these sets follow the trends of the other members of their respective toolsets, including enchanced versions and upgrades.

Directions on how to get to this new structure can be found here!

--

Moosemart has also been updated with a teaser for some of the new trades that'll hit the shelves around that same time, take a visit over to Bay 513 to check it out! More to come on this and some related features closer to that August 1st release date!

--

As of the 1.19 launch, the Hunter's Lodge has also been temporarily taken offline for some much needed modernization and improvements. It may be down for some time, but it will return with it's own event- a special relaunch with any and all raid bosses missed during the maintenance period, plus some extra goodies to go along with it's new facelift. Stay tuned!

Minecraft 1.19 is go!
From Doctacosa

The network has been updated to Minecraft 1.19. Fans of frogs, it's time to update your client to join us on new adventures! While it's still possible to join and play using 1.18 at the moment, it's not recommended and expected to be removed from survival later.

The maps for Rodinia, Gondwana and Superia are currently regenerating and will be fully available soon. This will remove the stray chunks that generated outside the world borders. Now that the root cause for them has been found and eliminated, no more random spots should appear... outside of staff oopsies!

The two new major additions to the worlds in this game update are the Ancient Cities and mangroves. While our initial plan was to expand Rodinia once again to give you access to these, the scope of the additions didn't seem worth it, so this will be kept aside for a later date.

Worry not, though! Gondwana, Cimmeria and Superia have been updated with square world borders instead of their previous circles, and I hear that these new corners could be harboring secrets... The change from circle to square increases the size of each world by about 27%, giving you new exploration and building opportunities! Plus, this uses the vanilla border instead of a plugin-based one, which means it's visible to add and will no longer cause unpredictable bouncing when you hit it.

If you're interested in exploring Ancient Cities and fun and profit, or possibly acquiring Allays to do your bidding, we will have more news to share with you soon.

Enjoy!

Special promo offer for supporting my work!
From Doctacosa

As some of you know, I've got an ongoing Patreon campaign to help me cover the various expenses of the Creeper's Lab and encourage me to push further. To show my appreciation, I decided to do something extra for you!

For the next two weeks, anyone who pledges at $5 USD or above (monthly or yearly, at the Builder tier) will get an exclusive Squid Beaker sticker! Of course, if you're already supporting me at that level or higher, you will get it as a thank you for your loyalty!

Stickers sample

The next month is the yearly postcard for those that are eligible; your sticker will ship with it.

What's in it for you

Of course, you might be wondering what's in it for you. That's a fair question. In return for your support, based on your pledge level, you can get any or all of the following:

  • Custom titles and custom name colors
  • Fancy particle trails
  • Postcards
  • An exclusive access to my musings on Patreon
  • And the warm, fuzzy feeling of helping the Creeper's Lab!

How it helps

On the flipside, where is this money going to? What's the goal? Here are a few concrete examples:

  • The dedicated server hardware we use was upgraded multiple times.
  • The monthly email newsletter requires some ongoing expenses.
  • Ads are published to gather more players.
  • Ultimately, open up the door for me to do this full time!

I'm planning several more additions to the Creeper's Lab in the upcoming year, plus I have another major project that's in development, so your support matters a lot. It's a good source of motivation for me to know that I can count on others to have my back!

You have until the end of the month to make up your mind and claim your sticker; don't wait too long! Also, as always, thank you!

This new challenge has you entering a stage. After a brief countdown, bedrock blocks will start falling from the ceiling, while lava will rise from below. Your goal is to survive the heat and the crush as long as possible!

This is designed to be played by one or multiple players at once. If teams jump in, they could be able to help or hinder each other, so strategy is key! Scores are individual and set in seconds. Head over to the lobby now to give it a try!

Once you've tried it, your best score will be displayed in your player profile. You can also compare your result to other players with the leaderboards!

Enjoy!

More improvements on player profiles!
From Doctacosa

Based on recent feedback on the player profiles, I have two notable improvements to present to you today!

On your own player profile, the activity chart has been expanded to cover the life of your play history, back to its beginnings! You can click on any of the years below the chart to jump back. Each square represents a single day in a year; the darker the square, the more hours were played on that day.

Notable exception: the players who have been around since the near beginning only have a display starting on 31 January 2012. That's when the data recording process began!

Activity chart preview

To let the data load faster, the global statistics page was split into three sections. The first section regroups the common gameplay stats; the last one is focused on the minigames results. New is the second section, which presents a breakdown of the newly added player levels.

The first list displayed is the same one as in the global section, while the following leaderboards show the XP earned in each category along with your ranking. If you were wondering how you were comparing to others on your distance traveled, wonder no more - it's right there!

Minecraft 1.19 released; Java + Bedrock together
From Doctacosa

Minecraft 1.19 - The Wild Update has been released today and the network has been updated to let you play using the new version. This is only a compatibility check for now, as the new features will only be available once all our tools are in place. For now, Java players, I recommend sticking to 1.18.2 to play with us. Bedrock players, you have to update to continue.

Also of note, as of today, people playing under Windows who only own either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition can claim the other version, for free! Here's a FAQ from Mojang with more information; you should be able to redeem the one you won't have directly from the launcher.

If you're not whitelisted yet on the other edition, all you need to do is login to your Interordi Account and add your username for "Minecraft (Java Edition)" or "Xbox Live Gamertag" (Bedrock). Then, the doors are wide open for you!

As a reminder, you can also choose to link both accounts to have a single player body on the network. This way, no matter if you're playing at home, on mobile or on your console, you can have a single body and inventory that follows you everywhere! For more information, see our information page on Bedrock support and read through the "Account Linking" section.

Monthly challenges update: June 2022
From Doctacosa

Make sure to read through the entire news post, there are some notable new features and changes found within!

Polls!

First, some feedback: we have three new polls to get your opinion!

Kenorland: Race Away!

This month marks the return of a classic - Race Away!

Your goal, as always, is to run to the East as far as you can within the month. Get to the highest X coordinate possible; your highest position will count at the end. Don't expect to rely on horses or the Nether, as both options are disabled! Using the /pos on command might be useful; don't stray more than 1000 blocks on each side as you could be bounced back with unpredictable results.

New this month, to keep things fresh, is a different world generation from Twixxi. Those who liked to dig their way to victory might need a different strategy, while ocean boaters might run dry. Check it out!

Merit Points will be awarded in the usual model for this event: the player with the highest score will get 30 points, second place 29, and so on until the 30th player with 1 point.

Science

The agonising heat of summer returns to the Hunter's Lodge! Have a little fun in the sun with Heat Miser and the Bone Tower. Stay cool.

New Horsemen Quests are also available for all five of the Four Horsemen. Plus, don't forget to submit an application to gather tokens toward your Acolyte status!

Guilds

As with every new month, the guilds have new targets. You have until the end of this month to complete them and claim your tokens!

If you need details on any of these, the wiki page about the Monthly Challenges is updated as soon as each of these is ready at the beginning of the month!

New profile feature: player level!
From Doctacosa

Some players have been around for a long time but don't play often; others joined recently and have been very active. It can be difficult to judge how someone has progressed compared to others in the community. To give you a better clue on how you're doing, I'm introducing today a new feature within the player profiles: the level indicator!

This new level indicator isn't your in-game level based on gathered XP; rather, it's an overall score on your progress within the Creeper's Lab. This value is based on the following:

  • Achievements earned
  • Progression through the science areas
  • Progression through the guilds
  • Skulltulas found in the Lost Woods
  • Merit Points earned
  • Playtime
  • Distance travelled
  • Mobs killed
  • Blocks broken
  • Blocks placed

None of these values are new to the profiles, but they're now combined for the first time as a single number, indicating your rough power level. No, nobody has passed level 9000 yet.

You can go to your profile now to see your current value! You can also go to the main player profiles summary to see the levels leaderboard and see where you rank in the list. Similar to achievements rolls, the values displayed within are updated every half-hour. The levels scale might be updated later on based on the introduction of new areas and features.

New merch available!
From Doctacosa

After reviewing some classic community sayings, I've added two new designs to our merch line!

Merch preview 1

The first new design, WHEESH!!, is for those of us who enjoy our endless rail trips and like to scream euthusiastly as we go. The second, of course, is the classic TRIBUTE!!!... which promptly gets you sent as a sacrifice to the Squids Gods. The visual shows one of the last sights you get to enjoy before things heat up!

But that's not all! New product types have been added to RedBubble since I first introduced our merchandise, and I've now added these to the existing designs as well. Should you be interested, you can now get our six visuals on mousepads, socks, baseball caps and drawstring bags. And since I've once made a throwaway comment on how I needed to build an empire that featured shower curtains, well, those are now a thing too. For real.

Merch preview 1

I can vouch for the quality of the products, having tried several ones myself. I've worn my Science!! t-shirt on a regular basis and it's still holding up well, while I use my beakers notebook daily. Also, I've tuned the position of the images and logos on each item one-by-one to get the best results possible. With six designs now available, hopefully you'll find something to your liking!

All sales help to keep the Creeper's Lab going by covering some of the monthly servers expenses and to make our player base grow. Please give it a look! Of course, for those wanting to go the extra mile, support on Patreon is always very much appreciated!

Event: Scavenger Hunt!
From Doctacosa

Hello everyone, this is Kimonellos. It's time for an event, that's why I have prepared a scavenger hunt for you. It will also be a race, so you need to be quick as well. It will take place on my island, Irferlion. To get there, take the West Nether Rail until the 3rd stop, Mesa's Edge. Descend to the 3rd floor and find the line labelled "Irferlion" and enter the portal labelled "Scavenger Hunt Starting Area". It will start on the 30th of April, at 9pm EST(Event Night) and will last for a week.

Instructions: Once in the overworld, grab a sign from the chest nearby, as well as a "Starting Token" from the chest next to it. Claim a chest that is free by placing a sign with your name on it and then type "/cprivate" in chat and punch it. When you are ready to start, deposit your Starting Token in your chest and take the first clue afterwards. Do not take the first clue before depositing the token. Your time starts as soon as you deposit the token in your chest. During the hunt, you will be receiving some items to prove you went through all 10 locations, so you will need to have at least 10 empty spaces in your inventory. When you finish the hunt, you will be given an "End Token" which you'll need to deposit in your chest, along with the 10 items mentioned earlier. Additionally, you will need to bring with you a bow (and arrows), as well as an elytra (and firework rockets of course). If you do not own an elytra, you can borrow one for free from the starting area, but you will need to return it afterwards. The times will be calculated by me after the end date and results will be announced at a later date.

Rewards are as follows:
1st place: 50 Merit Points, 3 Merit Vouchers.
2nd place: 40 Merit Points, 2 Merit Vouchers.
3rd place: 30 Merit Points, 1 Merit Voucher.
Participation prize: 10 Merit Points

Moreover, the first 3 people will receive a shulker full of goodies each.

In conclusion:

  • April 30 - May 7
  • West Nether Rail, 3rd Stop(Mesa's Edge), 3rd floor, Irferlion Hub, Scavenger Hunt Starting Area portal
  • Claim a chest, add starting token before taking out the first clue to start your time
  • After you finish, add the Ending Token in your chest,as well as the 10 items received during the hunt to end your time
  • Bring a bow, elytra and rockets with you
  • Top 3 people get extra rewards

If you have any questions, contact me either through discord or in game.

Event: Splat!
From Doctacosa

Hi everyone, Groovy here. This Saturday, April 23rd, I'd like to invite you to play my newest mini-game, Splat! After a few months of grueling (but hopefully fun) events I thought we could tone it down a bit and have some unadulterated fun! The game is simple, fall from the build height limit to bedrock and stop your fall with a bucket of water. Compete head to head, the person to survive moves on to the next round. If people get too good at the game, I have a surprise built into the game to spice it up. Normal event prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers. The game is located in my gaming district, just north of Central, the structure is hard to miss. Hope to see you all there, at the start of Events Night!

Event: The Last Easter
From Doctacosa

A message from Reb!

PT's B&B is now open! Peter Cottontail and Thumper have decided to settle down and end their pirate lifestyle. With the children growing up, there is one last game of hide-and-seek they want to play.

Combining the previous years, a scavenger hunt and a maze-like cave system awaits you. Finding the children (eggs) is a priority, then finding Peter Cottontail comes after! Peter is waiting for you with your 2022 Easter Basket in the cave somewhere. But be careful, there are troublesome carrots that Thumper is trying to exterminate and use for baking. Bringing Thumper or Peter Cottontail (receptionist) these carrots will lead to some nifty rewards.

You can obtain your 2022 Easter Basket starting on 9 April 2022 at 9pm EST until 17 April 2022 ending at 9pm EST. Afterwards, Peter Cottontail will return to the reception desk until Easter returns next year where he will be overjoyed to hand out the previous Easter Baskets again!

Petter Cottontail's residence

Petter Cottontail's residence

Visit the Creeper Citadel and return to Peter Cottontail's Residence. The island is located on the right of Moosemart. Inside, you will find a new button that leads to Easter Island, where your first clue is waiting.

Did you miss out on the 2021 Easter Basket? What about the 2020 Easter Basket? Find Peter Cottontail in the caves to get one for 1 Merit Voucher!

Monthly challenges update: April 2022
From Doctacosa

Kenorland: Death Seeker!

We're introducing this month in Kenorland a brand new challenge: Death Seeker!

We're embracing a staple of the Creeper's Lab - countless player deaths - and turning them into a challenge! The goal of this world is to try and score as many different death messages as possible within the month. This game can be very varied in how it tells us about fallen players; likewise, you'll have to be creative to trigger as many messages as possible!

Getting the same death message from different mobs will not count; likewise, deaths from named mobs will all count as the same.

Merit Points will be awarded in the same model as Race Away: the player with the highest score will get 30 points, second place 29, and so on until the 30th player with 1 point.

Science

Sæhrímnir and the Predatory Teddy Bear are back in the Lodge! Save the children, collect the candy, and trade in the Scrap Shards!

New Horsemen Quests are also available for all five of the Four Horsemen. After you hand in the requested materials or items, you can easily warn the Horsemen about your drop: call @famine, @conquest, @war, @death and @frank to validate your items! See the Horseman Points Guide for an in-depth look at the quests, points, and how to cash them in.

If you're interested in becoming a Horsemen Acolyte, you need to submit an application every month to gather your tokens! To do so, visit the Horsemen island at the Creeper Citadel. Voting and running events are ways you can gain tokens.

New this month, you can also tag @creeperslab on social media to earn Acolyte tokens! Spreading the good word on us and getting rewarded for it, what more could you ask for!

Guilds

As with every new month, the guilds have new targets. You have until the end of this month to complete them and claim your tokens! The Specialist Tasks are the exception: they have to be completed in Gondwana, but they never reset, so you can take your time.

Don't forget about the suggestion boxes in Gondwana's Masters Guildhall! You can submit your proposal for future targets, by placing either a sample block, item or a named piece of paper.

If you need a starting guide for the guilds, Twixxi has you covered. Start in Laurasia, then work your way up!

If you need details on any of these, the wiki page about the Monthly Challenges is updated as soon as each of these is ready at the beginning of the month!

Introducing Interordi NFTs!
From Doctacosa

UPDATE: April Fools. :-p

Taking another step for the Interordi network, I'm happy to introduce something completely new: the collection of Interordi NFTs!

For those still trying to grasp what Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are, think of them as a certificate of authenticity - you don't acquire a unique copy of a JPG, PNG or whatever. Rather, you get the unique proof that you own that media, with that proof living in the blockchain. This ensures its security thanks to a non-centralized space, removing the risk of fraud.

The Interordi collection was inspired by the Pop Art movement, with a modern touch of minimalism, giving it a strong and bold look.

NFTs preview

You can find this range of NFTs on OpenSea, the world's largest platform for NFT trading. These are backed by the Polygon platform on the Ethereum blockchain. Each NFT is available for 0.003 ETH, which is worth about $10 USD at the current exchange rate.

22 of these have been made available, one for each of Interordi's 22 completed years on the Internet. This is another milestone in our history, with many more steps to come!

You will need a cryptocurrency wallet to complete a purchase. If you need more information on the topic, you can check this article on OpenSea.

Remember, only a few of these are up for grabs, and they will be available only for a limited time, so don't miss your chance!

Event: Gather stars and eggs!
From Doctacosa

Hello test subjects, we have a special announcement from the Horsemen for you.

Earlier this month we got our first slave Acolyte, GroovyBanana. While it's fun to have one Acolyte, it will be even more fun to have others to do our bidding. We are waiting for the day we can watch our Acolytes fight to the death in our Acolyte-Only arena and throw some interesting events using the Acolyte-Only event space. We also want more Acolytes to fill the coffers of our Community Vaults. So, to celebrate Groovy's success we are going to be holding a very special event with some very special prizes.

Without further ado, here's the first acolyte to tell you about what we have planned.

Howdy folks, Groovy here, I'm very excited to tell you about this exciting event. There will be a brand new, hard difficulty, temporary world generated. Additionally, PVP is turned on and you can just forget about keep inventory being on. You will have two different goals with two different sets of prizes.

The first goal will be to return a Nether Star to spawn. There are three prizes for the first three people who complete the first challenge, they are:

1st place: 2 Acolyte tokens, 20 Horseman Points, 25 Merit Points and 3 Merit Vouchers!
2nd place: 1 Acolyte token, 15 Horseman Points, 15 Merit Points and 2 Merit Vouchers
3rd place: 1 Acolyte token, 10 Horseman Points, 5 Merit Points and 1 Merit Voucher

The second goal, based in the same world, is to be the first person to slay the dragon and bring her egg back to spawn. The reward for doing so is a very special shulker box filled with some extremely valuable items. That item in the middle is a new item called Ravaiim's Blood, while it is a bit of a mystery as to what it does at the moment, let's just say that it's high desirable.

Reward

Anyone who participates in this event will receive 5 Merit points and 5 Horseman points.

The event start at the begining of event night (9pm EST) this Saturday, March 26th. The new world will be accessible from the TransHub in Central, right by Grand Central station. This event is going to run until midnight (EST), April 3rd or until all four goals have been achieved; whichever comes first. After that, inventory sync will be turned on and you will have 3 days to get your goodies out and harvest the world for any additional resources you may be after. Before inventory syncs up make sure to empty your inventory, including your armor and to empty any ender chests or your items will be lost!

Building contest: Levansk, part two!
From Doctacosa

Last spring, there was a building contest in Levansk to add more builds within its walls. There are plenty of lots left, so it's time for an encore! This is once again hosted by Offbrand_Neo.

Come one and come all! It's that time again to make a house a home. Come by Levansk and fill up to three plots per person with whatever you would like to see in a city. Build height is y=35-70. - Neo

Rules

In opposite of last time, the only specific theme to follow is "cityscape"; the style of it left left up to you.

Lots are already predefined; look for the basalt blocks that mark the corners of each building spot. Four districts have been defined, your build idea must be made in the matching district within Levansk. See the local indications for more information.

Claim a lot by placing a sign with your name on it, then get building! You can claim up to three lots if you want, as everything you do will be judged together, so plan accordingly.

The building period starts today and ends on 5 April at 11:59pm Eastern time.

Location

You will want to make your way to Levansk. From Central, ride the East Nether line to the Doctralia substation, go to the third floor, then choose the Levansk Community Line.

Prizes

The top winner is eligible to $10 USD, offered by Offbrand_Neo.

Additionally, the top three winners will get 50, 30 and 10 Merit Points respectively.

Good luck to all!

Improved player profiles!
From Doctacosa

Your Minecraft player profile has received an upgrade!

Many of you wanted to see your stats beyond the top 10, and this update lets you do just that. A new search box is now available in each data list, letting you scan through the entire results set*. Look for items, blocks, PvP victims and more! *Note that each list is limited to 1000 entries for performance reasons.

Those who have obtained the Horsemen Acolyte status will also see it displayed in their profile, under the areas progression. Acolytes that decide to affiliate with a given Horseman will also see that included in their status.

These improvements also include a faster loading speed for each page. Clicking on some player names would give you a dead link; now they will properly let you see their profile.

To see this, go to your profile and explore from there!

Monthly challenges update: March 2022
From Doctacosa

Kenorland: Grindatron's Return!

Grindatron makes its return to Kenorland this month, with it's usual array of challenges! How this works: every four hours, you need to provide a target block or item at spawn. However, you have a limited amount of energy to spend while moving, building, mining and dying, so you need to strategize!

Some balance and improvement changes have happened since last time:

  • Gliding with an elytra will cut your movement energy usage by 75%.
  • The daily connection bonuses have been boosted with a surprise.
  • The current target will be displayed next to the period progression bar.
  • The same target won't repeat within a week.

If you're not familiar with this challenge, I highly recommend you read its wiki page first. It might sound complicated at first, but it's easy to understand once you get going.

Horsemen Acolytes update

The program for Horsemen Acolytes was launched last October, and our first player has gathered enough Acolyte Tokens to gain his acolyte status - GroovyBanana!

With this new step reached, the Horsemen Guildhall is now officially opened to visitors! Anyone, acolyte or not, is free to visit it. You can access it from the middle of the Horsemen Island at the Citadel, through what was Frank's hut, or from the TransHub in Central.

Acolytes can also access a private area within. Go give it a look!

Science

Look at me! Look at me! Look at me now! It is fun to have fun, but you have to know how.
Cat in the Hat is back at the Hunter's Lodge, with Evil Leprechauns right at his side! Yba'sokug must be gathering an army for St. Patrick's Day! Stop on over to the Hunter's Lodge and help remove the threats!

Event: Capture a Ghast!
From LordItachi

Event night is here and Groovy is ready to announce the challenge for his new event! Your task, should you choose to participate, is to catch, name and house in the overworld, one Ghast.

You may choose to do this all by yourself or work in teams of up to three members. There are prize shulker boxes, two for 1st, and one for 2nd and 3rd place which can be seen at the starting island at the event area. Additionally, any individual or team who completes the task before the start of event night next week will be awarded their choice of one of the following: a stack of shulker shells, a stack of wither heads, or a shulker full of any of the following items: iron ingots, gunpower, bones, blaze rods, slime blocks, emeralds or pointed dripstone.

In addition to the above prizes, merit point prizes will be given out as well (teams will need to split them)

First Place: 50 Merit Points. 3 Merit Vouchers.
Second Place: 30 Merit Points. 2 Merit Vouchers.
Third Place: 10 Merit Points. 1 Merit Voucher.

With lots of help from UE, we have created an area where this challenge must be done. To get to the event grounds hop into the nether and take the East line all the way to the end to Nether Station Townsend. From the station look for the line labeled "Groovy's Event Grounds" and take that to the end. When you go through the portal at the end of the line you will see a map with the locations of 20 nether portals that you can use to get your Ghast from the Nether to the Overworld.

The Rules:

Your Ghast must be named so it doesn't despawn You must catch and house your Ghast at the event grounds The cage to house your Ghast must meet the following requirements:

  • It must be located on naturally generated land
  • It must be at least 15 blocks from any body of water
  • It must be at least 15 blocks wide, 15 blocks long and 15 blocks high
  • It must be created out of nether native materials and glass
  • I'd appreciate it if you at least put in a modicum of effort to make it look nice

Good luck and have fun!

Chinese New Year event results!
From Doctacosa

The festival goers have all gone back home in Seasonal (the ones that survived, anyway), and it's now time to tally the results of the Chinese New Year event!

An impressive total of 22 players managed to defeat the Zodiac God, with 11 of these maxing out the number of offerings at the shrine! All Merit Points have been awarded, you can check your player profile or type /points in-game to view your new total.

Inventory sync has been enabled between Seasonal and the survival worlds, so you can now go retrieve the items that you scored during the event. While you can't gather additional yen anymore, the traders are still open for busines until the end of the month, so you can cash-in additional rewards.

More plugins for servers owners
From Doctacosa

I've reviewed and released three more of my own plugins, which are now available to other server owners.

IOMawaba is the latest version of our warnings, kicks and bans system. It was introduced last December and is now the primary tool used by the staff to handle potential problems within the community.

IORace is used for our Race Away challenge, as you last saw this January. The players need to compete on foot to reach the farthest distance possible within the time given.

IOGrindatron's name probably tells it all: it's what runs our popular Grindatron challenge in Kenorland, which shows up once in a while. In this event, players are tasked with returning a different block or item to spawn, once every four hours.

These three join the other five plugins I released last summer. If you're a server owner and might be interested in any of these, you can access all the links on Interordi. This includes download links on Spigot and Polymart, plus their full source code on GitHub.

If you know of a server owner that could use any of these tools, please share this update with them!

The Creeperpedia now uses Interordi Accounts!
From Doctacosa

Our wiki, the Creeperpedia, now allows you to login using your Interordi Account! This is the same information that you used when you first registered and is shared with the forums and other tools. It gives you a single identity across our network instead of having to remember various usernames usernames and passwords. The introduction of Interordi Accounts here will replace the previous login method, which relied on Discord.

The Creeperpedia is our main reference along the forums on what to do, the description of items, and so much more. Anyone is free to join in on the editing, if you can see something incomplete, wrong or missing, just login and start contributing!

Monthly challenges update: February 2022
From Doctacosa

It's time for your monthly dose of challenges and quests! Kenorland is getting temporarily replaced by Seasonal, as Rebbica007 has prepared something for you all with SorathePumpking's help!

Kenorland: Chinese New Year!

Here's Reb with the details on this one:

Happy Chinese New Year! Come on over to Kenorland to participate in the festival to celebrate! Explore the shops, find the Zodiacs, complete the challenge, receive rewards!

Starting on 1st February 2022 through 21st February 2022 you have the chance to complete the challenge of defeating all the Zodiacs and their "God" for 15 Merit Points! Find the special prize and cash it in up to 5 times to receive 5 Merit Points each time!

There are lots of decorative items to collect, some interesting new pieces of equipment, a plethora of books, and some fights awaiting you.

Where to get started: Upon arrival, you will notice a large circular Zodiac Calendar on the ground that has 13 Zodiac shrines. After defeating a Zodiac member (or multiple members), make sure to register the Zodiac head at the calendar! Press the button when you arrive to receive starting currency that can be used at the starter house (look for a cyan beacon) to receive a starter pack. If you are running out of room, head on over to the Public Storage building (look for a magenta beacon). Use a sign and label your chest (please only take one chest so others have a chance for storage as well)! There are more Shulker boxes for sale in one of the shops to help save on space.

Hop on over and explore the festival, enjoy the fireworks, and most importantly, have fun!

IMPORTANT: Inventories will be synced starting on 22nd February 2022 through 28 February 2022. Make sure you empty out end chests, inventories, and armour slots in Kenorland before this time frame to ensure you do not lose any items!

When inventory sync occurs, you will still be able to trade in the event currency at the villagers but you cannot receive any more of the event currency. Keep that in mind as you enjoy the festival!

Science

It's time for the God of the Underworld to make their way back to the surface! That's right, Nyx is back! Along with that, Cupid is back recking havoc on young people with his love arrows! Is he really killing people and making Nyx clean it up? Head on over to the Hunter's Lodge and help clean up this mess!

New Horsemen Quests are also available, including Frank's as of last month.

Guilds

As with every new month, the guilds have new targets. You have until the end of this month to complete them and claim your tokens! The Specialist Tasks introduced last month are the exception: they have to be completed in Gondwana, but they never reset, so you can take your time.

New Companion features!
From Doctacosa

The Creeper's Lab Companion, our app offering access to a set of useful features, has received its first major update since its launch! Within, you will now find two new sections: schedule and voting.

The schedule section will display the current server time, just like Java players can see in-game on the Tab menu, along with the list of events scheduled to happen in the future. This makes it easier to plan out when to meet with other players.

The voting section was requested by a few and lists the various servers lists on which you can vote for the Creeper's Lab daily. As a bonus, if you're logged in, it will automatically fade out the lists for which you've already voted on for the day!

If you already had the Companion installed, the changes are now live. If you'd like to download it, or learn more about it, then read on! It's accessible on Google Play, iOS, Microsoft Store or directly on the web.

More additions and improvements are set to happen later. If there's one feature you'd really like to see, please let us know!

Guild Specialist Tasks and Upgrade System
From Twixxi

Have you reached Master level in some of the Guilds and are looking for a new challenge? Are some of the Master-level rewards just not cutting it any more? Then the new Specialist Tasks and Upgrade System might be just what you're looking for!

Players who have reached Master level in one of the Guilds can now look in the Hall of the Masters, found on the upper level of the Gondwana Guildhall. Inside you will find the Guild Specialists, who have a set of big tasks for you to complete. Finish all five to be rewarded with a Platinum Coin, which you can use to upgrade certain Master-level Guild Rewards.

Please note that progress on these tasks will not begin to be counted until you push the button to sign up, and you must be a Master with the appropriate Guild to sign up. It is expected that these tasks will take you (well, most of you) quite a long time to complete, so these tasks do not change or reset each month. You can take as long as you need to complete them.

A full list of available Upgrades is available on the Forums here.

Haven't started your journey with the Guilds yet? A full guide is available here.

New science plus monthly challenges update
From Doctacosa

Welcome to the new year! With a new year comes a new month, with a new month come new challenges, and the Horsemen have something else on the menu. Read on!

New science areas: Isle of Insanity and more!

Time for something new in Science for the new year; but instead of one thing, how about three! Isle of Insanity, Frank's mini-Horseman Area; The Science Isles, an in-between archipelago of a few islands belonging to various challenge areas; and the new upgrade system!

The Isle of Insanity has long been teased, and is now ready for it's first phase of release, with the surface of the area ready for challengers. You may notice a few structures as you explore the islands, as an insight to the next phase (or two!) of releases!

One structure for sure you don't want to miss, Frank's Forge opens with the new Upgrade System, housing the upgrade for the Diamond Dragon's Claw toolset into the Netherite Dragon's Claw toolset! Along with this, there's many stations in the forge to place all manor of blocks on your head! Have the block in your main hand, have nothing else on your head, and click the button! Instantly, your face is now in an ice cube. Or honey block.

Along with this new upgrade system, the Science Isles opens with it's own isle unique to the area; the Sky Pillar. Within this island you can find Ivaldi's Dragon Forge, which houses upgrades for the (Iron) Dragon's Claw Toolset, the Gold Dragon's Claw Toolset, and the new (wait, whut) Netherite Dragon's Claw Toolset!

Both these new areas are accessible via the Events Nights Cannon from the citadel, via the overworld at these map links, or in the case of the IoI, via Nether. More details to come, and more features to these two areas to be released over the coming months, so stay tuned!

Sky Pillar Frank's Castle

Kenorland: Race Away!

The goal of Race Away is simple: run East on the X axis, as far as you can, and cover more distance than the others. The higher your ranking, the more points you earn! If you die, you get sent back ALL the way to the beginning, so slow and steady might be a better strategy than fast and furious.

This month's map features the brand new AMPLIFIED world generation of 1.18, navigating the landscape will be key! You can freely move on the Z axis between -1000 and 1000, beware of the bouncing world border beyond that. /pos on could be a useful tool to keep track of your position.

Science

Jack Torrance and Red Rum make their way back into the Hunter's Lodge for the beginning of the year! Stop on by to defeat them along with John Madden (In loving memory of the real John Madden 1936 - 2021) and the Bagel Man!

New Horsemen Quests are also available, with the addition of a fifth group for Frank! As a new convenience, you can now easily @-summon the Horsemen from the in-game chat: @famine, @conquest, @war, @death and @frank are waiting to validate your items! See the Horseman Points Guide for an in-depth look at the quests, points, and how to cash them in.

If you're interested in becoming a Horsemen Acolyte, you need to submit an application every month to gather your tokens! To do so, visit the Horsemen island at the Creeper Citadel.

Guilds

As with every new month, the guilds have new targets. You have until the end of this month to complete them and claim your tokens!

Don't forget about the suggestion boxes in Gondwana's Masters Guildhall! You can submit your proposal for future targets, by placing either a sample block, item or a named piece of paper.

New apprentices, you start in Laurasia's Guild in Central, then gather points to work your way up to Rodinia, Superia, then Gondwana. Once you have been granted the rank of Master, you can obtain Council Tokens from the Master Guilds in Gondwana. These can be traded for special rewards back at the Council Chamber, at the Creeper Citadel. Each guild on each world also has its own range of rewards, so browse through to find what catches your eye!

If you need details on any of these, the wiki page about the Monthly Challenges is updated as soon as each of these is ready at the beginning of the month!
