Double Trouble October Building Contests!
With Science Fest making a comeback, we have an interesting dual-zoned building contest waiting for you!
As with last year's run of Sciencefest, you are able to participate on the surrounding building contest grounds again this year. The twist? There is a SECOND building zone that is open over on Ur; with an overarching conest theme of Things You'd Find in an Ancient Forest. Specifically, entries to the Ur side of the building contest have a chance to be included in the up and coming re-release of the Lost Woods!
These building contests will be judged TOGETHER. That being said, you can have a total of 6 plots between the two building sites. Science Fest plots will count as 2 plot allowances, as they are larger. You can mix and match your number of plots to make a total combination of 6 plots. For example:
- 3 Science fest Plots
- 2 Science Fest plots + 2 Ancient Forest plots
- 1 Science Fest plot + 4 Ancient Forest plots
- 6 Ancient Forest plots
- etc
To get to Science Fest:
Nether: North Mainline Rail -> String Theory -> Floor 3 Back left corner
Events Night: TARDIS -> Additional Attractions -> Down the stairs until you see Science Fest with a jack-o-lantern head on the top
Overworld: North Transcontinental Line -> Towards Sanctum
To get to the Ancient Forest contest:
Overworld: UR -> The Creeper Citadel -> Ur Welcome Center
For Science Fest plots, each plot has a specific theme that applies to it, with some plots sharing themes and some being completely independant. Magnenta blocks outline a spot on each plot that lists out the plot's number, theme, and if it's currently claimed or not.
Want to change a biome or try something fancy on your plot? Need to adjust the size or shape of the plot? Reach out to @horsemen and pass it by the event runners to see if they'll allow it and/or assist!
Want to claim two plots right next to each other? Reach out to the @horseman and we can combine the plots for you; however, the combined area must follow the themes of each included plot.
Plots can also be worked on by a team of players. All team members will receive prizes equally; plots claimed by a team would count as 2 plots claimed towards the 6 total you could have for everyone involved.
Please note however, that after the event, the cyan plot markers will be removed.

Each contest plot will be tallied from 1 - 20 on the following three criteria: Adherence to theme, usage of space, and creativity.
For the Ancient Forest contest, there is only one theme to follow, and it is in the name: Things You'd Find in an Ancient Forest. Magenta blocks outline a spot on each 9x9 plot that lists out the plot's number and if it's currently claimed or not.
Plots can also be worked on by a team of players. All team members will receive prizes equally; plots claimed by a team would count as 1 plot claimed towards the 6 total you could have for everyone involved.
As stated earlier, these builds may be used in the Lost Woods, a Legend of Zelda inspired Science Area (Think a repeatable Adventure Map) so keep that in mind as you are building! Have a function in mind for your addition? include a sign or a book with your intended functionality. Want something purely decorative? Go for it! There'll be more than enough Lost Woods that'll need decorating, and we're looking to you all for help in filling it!

Instead of the typical first, second and third places, we are doing rewards a bit different, with a points ranking system!
The more plots you build, the more points you gain- the higher on the prize rankings you go. Everyone receives rewards for however high they get their points, with a special award going to the participant with the highest point total!

- 91-120 points: 40 Merit Points. 12 Merit Vouchers, 8 Transverse Tokens. x16 Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (Two Elder Artifacts of choice, excluding The Mirror)
- 61-90 points: 20 Merit Points. 8 Merit Voucher, 4 Transverse Token. x12 Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (Two Elder Artifact of choice, excluding The Mirror)
- 31-60 points: 10 Merit Points. 4 Merit Voucher, 2 Transverse Token. x8 Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (One Elder Artifact of choice, excluding The Mirror)
- 1-30 points: 5 Merit Points. 2 Merit Voucher, 1 Transverse Token. x4 Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (One Elder Artifact of choice, excluding The Mirror)
