The server's community is growing and growing, and with some of the usually reliable members busy with their personal lives, I'm looking to add a few people to the staff of the server. Ideally, I'd like to get one new Helper and one new Server Op, and that might be you!

The tasks of a helper include the following:

Greeting the new players and answering any questions they might have
Checking on those players to make sure they understand and follow the rules
Getting players unstuck due to server bugs (it happens!)
As a last resort, kicking and/or banning troublesome players

Being an op involves the above plus the following:

Fix broken permissions
Protect the player's creations as requested
Investigate ongoing issues
Promote players to the trusted status

Quite obviously, only registered and active players will be considered. If you're interested and want to apply to a position (or both!), please send me (Dr. Cossack) a private message through the forums.

I'd like to remind all players that Saturday nights are Events Nights!

From approximately 9pm to midnight, Eastern time, you're welcome to join us for various multiplayer activities such as PvP, pig racing, spleef and more! Many single-player attractions are also available, including roller coasters, a parkour arena and mazes.

To give you a chance to reach those special locations quickly, you'll find some TARDIS and time gates spread around the world. Those serve as teleportation points and bring you to a central hub. From there, you can reach another destination quickly, but they are only enabled during Events Nights. Be on the lookout for these!

To all quartz hunters: I've run a special world modification program that added quartz ore to the current Nether. This means that you do not need to go to unexplored areas to find quartz!

Hankapotamus, a player on the server, has decided to take the initiative to launch a pixel art contest with an actual prize! In his own words:

"Come show off your pixel art skills! On the map go to the right of central and look for the mario bros mushroom inside a rectangle, thats Hanks house. The contest will take place in this area and the particiapnts will get prizes!!! Yay! The winner (based on creativity and presentation) will receive a awesome prize if we get enough participants. If we get 5 or more people Im going to give the winner the cost of MC in US dollars...which was 26 bucks for me so it's not bad for a little effort! Characters can be any from the series good or bad but must be labeled with a sign with your name on it. Can be on the ground, standing, or in mid air...wherever you feel necessary in either the desert or woods on either side of my house. There are signs outside my door with basic rules and stuff...if you have any questions just ask when Im online in the next few days. Contest ends 4/17 at noon so get building and spread the word! Thanks a lot guys!"

For those looking for more specific directions, start from Grand Central Station. Take the train line toward Victoria, and continue past the town. At the rail junction that follows, take the line to your left (heading North). Hankapotamus' location is after the mountain pass! Good luck to those who decide to enter!

If you haven't heard yet, what happened on the 1st of April was nothing more than an April's Fools Day gag. :) All the destruction and weirdness you might have seen on that day is gone, and we're back on track!
