Some access rights weren't set properly, meaning that non-trusted players couldn't lock their chests and doors. This has been fixed.
As a reminder, everyone is able to lock their chests, doors, furnaces and trapdoors to prevent other people from going through them. To do that, type in /cprivate while near the object to lock, then left-click it to apply the setting. If the game complies that it's already locked, or if you want to remove the protection, type /cremove. As an extra, to set an object to be available to everyone yet only lockable by you (for example, to have a chest full of items free for the taking), use /cpublic.
News
2011
The server has been upgraded to 1.0.1 tonight, so you'll need to update your game to be able to connect. To do that, simply answer "YES" when the game warns you about a new version being available!
From this point forward, we'll stick to official Minecraft releases only. There will always be a delay between game and server upgrades, so please keep an eye on these news to know when and when not to update.
A set of utility commands have been added to the server. Players now have access to commands such as /time to get the current in-game time and /msg to send private messages. It's also possible to protect chests, doors, furnaces and dispensers using a new set of instructions. That way, you can secure the booty found on your adventures, ensuring that no one else will go through it while you're gone!
Please see the Commands page for the full list!
Minecraft 1.0 (no more "beta" label attached) is supposed to be released today. However, if you want to keep playing on the server, you must not update yet! The server is still using Beta 1.9 Pre-release 5, and will be updated only when the plugins support structure, Bukkit, is ready in a 1.0-compatible version. This will take some days at least.
If you update by mistake, and want to be able to connect to the server again, simply follow the directions included in my previous post to downgrade.
Welcome everyone to the official unveiling of the Creeper's Lab!
This is a website! This is a Minecraft server! It is both! For more information about the server, it's connection information, and details on the whitelist, please see the server information page.
As of right now, the server is running Beta 1.9 Pre-release 5, and your client must be running the same version to be able to connect. If you're on 1.8.1 and don't know how to upgrade, please follow these instructions:
- Download the game and save it somewhere you can quickly find it.
- On Windows XP, click "Start" -> "Run" and enter "%appdata%" without the quotes. On Windows Vista or 7, open the Start menu and type in "%appdata%" without the quotes. Other platforms, you know the details better than I do.
- Hit Enter. In the window that opens, go to .minecraft, then bin.
- Make a backup of the current minecraft.jar if you want, then put the file you downloaded on step 1 here.
- Done!
Once the game leaves beta, the plan will be to stick with the main releases only. That way, you won't need to go through these steps again and again. News on game updates will be posted here, so you know when to update and when not to do it!
Browse around, read what we have to offer, meet us on the message board, and we'll hopefully see you in the game! :-)
